Alternative Dispute Resolution Procedures in Russia

Abstract

Russian procedural codes indicate that one of the main purposes of civil proceedings is the peaceful settlement of disputes. Even though procedure codes contain an open list of alternative dispute resolution procedures, at the present time, only some of them are regulated at a legislative level in Russia, those being the complaint procedure, judicial conciliation (mediation), arbitral proceedings, administrative proceedings, and mediation.
