The IICJ third annual conference will gather together Senior In-House Counsel, Editorial Board Members, Authors and Subscribers to the International In-house Counsel Journal. Hosted at the Law Society in London delegates will be able to network with their peers and to formulate their own strategies to develop their in-house legal function.

Walt Addison Linscott the General Counsel and Secretary of Carestream in the USA will provide a brief overview of the sometimes conflicting laws and issues with insights into techniques to manage and mitigate the risks presented to companies operating in the global economy. Ros Innes Head of In-house and ABS, Thomson Reuters Legal will focus on how she manages resources to effectively run her in-house team well within budget. Brian Littleton the Head of In-House Chadwick Nott will share his knowledge of the in-house counsel employment arena and give indications of the salaries commanded by in-house counsel at different levels within the organisation.

 

After lunch Evie Kyriakides of Mars Chocolate will chair the in-house management panel comprised of senior in-house counsel from the IICJ Editorial Board. This interactive panel debate draws together the delegates and panelists into a discussion on managing in-house teams of just a few to several hundred and examines topics such as:

Robert Cummins of Intelsat will talk about the challenge of giving legal cover in High Growth Markets, drawing on his experiences at Intelsat and MTV. Anti-Bribery continues to be high on the agenda with many countries introducing their own versions of the FCPA and the UK Anti-Bribery Act, Orla Gillen who leads the Corporate Governance, Ethics & Compliance team at AWAS will explain how best to train your organization to ensure a culture of compliance. Paul Boyle the General Counsel and Company Secretary of Airwave Solutions Limited where he is responsible for managing legal risk and compliance across the business will look at Airwave’s experience of negotiating long term government contracts with the UK’s emergency services.
